First Obnoxious Neighbors Review!

A happy player recently (and informally) said a few kind words about Obnoxious Neighbors, and we thought we’d share them:

Played a fun game of Obnoxious Neighbors the other night with the kids. Made by Mike Borella and his sons as Jem Games, this is their second self-published game (Kaboom! is fun to play too). In Obnoxious Neighbors you’re trying to irritate your neighbors enough that they move out, but they’re trying to do the same to you.

Obnoxious Neighbors is Published!

ON card backThat’s right, it is finally available! We actually finished this game about a year and a half ago, fixed it up for about 6 months, then…up…got busy (err…lazy) for the last year.  But never mind that, it is out and available from The Game Crafter in the shop.  It is only $14.99, which is mere pennies (literally) over the cost of making the game.

Tell your friends…tell your neighbors…on second thought, don’t tell your neighbors…

Obnoxious Neighbors

The good news: We received the second Obnoxious Neighbors test game.  We tried it out with some friends and it seemed to go over well.

The bad news: The company we use for publishing the game has indicated that we need to redesign some of our graphics, because they (the company) are changing the dimensions of the game box we’re using.  This may lead to a further delay in making the game generally available for sale.

Stay tuned.

Second Obnoxious Neighbors Test Game Shipped

Dawdling, hesitation, lagging, procrastination…you get the picture. However, there is no excuse, even if two of the game designers are back in school and the third exceptionally busy at work. Today we ordered our second test version of Obnoxious Neighbors. We made a few minor gameplay and graphics changes in this version, and updated the rules as well. We should have it in hand within 2-3 weeks, and if it looks good we’ll publish the game, making it available to all of you.

We’re so excited we could throw a spite party.

Obnoxious Neighbors Test Game has Arrived!

We received and opened our test game of Obnoxious Neighbors on Thursday.  Overall, we’re happy with the quality of the cards, though some of the graphics need minor adjustments.  The rules, however, are going to need a bit of work to clarify certain situations that you can find yourself in when playing the game.  But overall, we’re very happy with the product and hope to have the first version available within a couple of weeks.

Obnoxious Neighbors is Getting Close

ON card backYeah, don’t get me started…

I remember thinking that we’d finish this game in March. Excuses aside, we did make significant progress today. In fact, all of the cards, pieces, and game box is done. All we need to do is complete the rules. This job will inevitably fall to the guy who writes for a living…me.

So the current plan is to do that ASAP, and then order a test copy of the game this week. Once that arrives, we’ll play it a few times to work out the bugs, and then hopefully publish the first actual version in August.

As for pricing, it looks like it will be $14.99, with a very narrow profit margin.

We’ll let you know the minute we’re done. No, the second….
